Eric Atnip from Lexington recently took our one day class at SlowTwitch.com
http://www.bizlex.com/Articles-c-2010-02-17-91462.113117_Working_couple_tap_endurance_to_set_up_triathlon_shop.html
Eric recently attended a F.I.S.T workshop and stayed an additional day for BikeFit’s education on the Foot/Pedal interface. Being F.I.S.T certified alone does not include cleat adjustments and assessment of the feet. Eric is one of the few to have both the F.I.S.T and BikeFit’s combined education. If you are in Kentucky this place offers a complete bike fit. Read about the new shop opening.

How do you mark your work?
If you are a dog you may lift your leg. If you are a BikeFit Pro you might leave a mark like this.
Remember Green and Red BikeFit Pros – let us know at your next order and we will include some BikeFit dots so you too can mark your work.
Cheers

0 left, 3 varus wedge right
Curious. How frequently do you see people with a fit similar to Rick, at F.I.S.T recently (with 0 wedges left and 3 varus wedges right)? Is it much more common to see less variance between left and right feet?"
I do not have the percentages but at least one out of every 20 fits we see something like this. Not sure we see it as often as one in ten bike fits but it does happen. Paul

proprioception
Perhaps an understanding of the word proprioception is needed to help understand Steve Hogg and his many references using the word - proprioception
Here are a few definitions
-The ability to sense stimuli arising within the body
-The ability to sense the position and location and orientation and movement of the body and its parts
-"One's own" and perception) is the sense of the relative position of ...
-Sensory awareness of a part of the body.

Compare for yourself
I get a lot of questions about Steve Hogg and why he suggests the BikeFit Wedges and Hogg Shims.
The link to the article below has been sent to me a few times. First – Steve Hogg does not work for us. We are friendly and have agreements and even some disagreements (but not about what you would think we might disagree about). We do sell his Leg Length Shims.
We at BikeFit have been working with the foot/pedal interface a long time and have been addressing things that are still often over looked in bike fitting. We have refined our approach to this area and are more than willing to show others how we do it. Our information is not considered confidential, it is for all to see and use. You may forward and or print our emails and share our tips with anyone. I ask if you make money off it you remember us…that is all.
Why does Steve go further and why does he have the opinions he does? I am not the one to answer that question. I will say I have yet to disagree with his approach to Wedges of Shims. Whereas I absolutely disagree with John Howard and his use of wedges yet both are featured on our web site.
So if interested in comparing our Wedges or Shims with others send me an e-mail about the situation you are working on and we will send you some samples for you to try and see for yourself what happens. Please share your findings with others when you do.
